Surrounded by the rolling hills of Dumfriesshire in over four-acres of stunning Scottish woodland, Trigony House Hotel is a winter wonderland for walkers and their four legged friends.
Scotland’s hidden gem, this boutique country house hotel has been voted sixth, most doggy friendly hotel in the UK’ by TripAdvisor and offers guests a Dog Welcome Pack which includes a map and all the best walks in the area. The hotel will also happily provide drying towels and a doggy bed, as well as dog food on request. Bess, the owner’s black labrador, is also on hand to act as the local guide – so it’s no wonder that 40% of guests visit the hotel with their dogs!
There are plenty of dog-friendly trails around the hotel and within the grounds, including open fields and woodland walks to suit dogs (and owners!) of all shapes, sizes and abilities. The hotel allows dogs in all public rooms with the exception of the dining room, however dogs are welcome to join guests eating in the bar for a well-earned relax in front of the open fire.
Until January 2010, Trigony House Hotel is offering a special midweek walking break including local maps and guide books, recommended walks and a packed lunch from £65 per person per night. The price is based on two sharing on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and dogs can stay for free during the week.
