Situated at the western end of the of the Anglo-Scottish border, Carlisle Castle has witnessed many turbulent conflicts and sieges.
Between 2nd January and 25th March 2010, take advantage of two for one tickets to this enchanting medieval fortress dating back to 1092. Various guided tours are available from ghost walks to those that tell of the capture of the castle and city. Adult tickets cost £4.50. Booking is essential.
